I haven't finished any new paintings yet, so thought I'd pop a couple of pastels on I did awhile ago. I did these on sanded paper, its holding power is wonderful. When I first started using it I ended up with no fingerprints, haha, I didn't realise when blending just how much skin it took off. Wow did I fond out the next morning. Also found out you don't blend pastel much with your fingers, but with other pastels.

These are very cool! I've never used soft pastels only the oil ones. I'm guessing you are referring to soft here. Great work!

Hi Manon, yes they're the soft pastels, I really want to try some oil ones myself. Will save and get some later. I love painting animals. Thank you for your comment.

Fun to see the pastel work. I started with pastel but after taking up watercolour never used pastels again. Just became immersed in the water...

Oh and isn't the watercolours so less messy than the pastels. I haven't done any watercolour for ages and ages, was never real good at them as was too heavy handed in it, but had a lot of fun with them. Yours are superb.
